My Chicken Mama cape before I sew the name on the back.
For those of you that are so sick of me and my chicken talk,
DON"T READ OR LOOK AT THIS POST ANYMORE!!!!
I know I may be a little crazy for these lovelies,
but they are just that,
LOVELY!!!
This was the arrival of our beautiful rooster. Glad he seemed so happy:) No girlfriends yet but he would be getting some soon.
We named him Maxwell because that name just came to my son Reed,
so we went with it.
I had to have a picture taken of me and Maxwell's "birth" mother.
She is so wonderful and I REALLY look forward to
becoming friends with her. Best of all,
she lives 3 minutes from my house and I didn't even know it.
Next we went to pick up our girls.
All 3 came from the same person,
so they were very happy with each other and
very calm. One of them actually
laid our first egg in 4 hours time
of putting them in their coop.
We pretty much just spent the day getting to know them and feeding them
What fun to have them eat out of our hands.
My friend Rachel brought her little boy out to visit
and Joseph loved the chickens too.
It was a perfect day and just as wonderful as I had
always imagined it would be when I got chickens.
My sweet Robby is the best and I love that he
tries to make all my dreams come true.
Reed feeding Ebony and Ivory from his hand.
Maxwell following the ladies out of the hen house.
Penelope (Penny) nesting to lay her egg.
Hanging out at the water cooler discussing the latest gossip.
Yep, I am pretty darn happy and my girls seem to like me.
Ebony sure like to eat and is very sociable.
Maxwell is such a handsome lad. The ladies LOVE him.
Even Joseph was able to feed the girls.
Penney's hard work paid off. My very first fresh egg.
Only Ivory would not cooperate.

Last Chance. She's my Easter Egg girl.
Ebony, Ivory's best friend and quite the social butterfly. She laid my second egg today:)
I promise to try and not make all my posts about my chickies.
But for now,
I can't help it.
I am like a kid having Christmas morning over and over again.
Too bad reality hits tomorrow morning
and I have to go back to work.

Debbie, you are so sweet and funny with your chickens! I am completely charmed by your excitement. And I think that you MUST paint their portraits. Congratulations on making your dream come true:-)
ReplyDeleteDeb - Love hearing about your journey with your chickens. I hear the eggs taste so much better. Keep posting ~ I will keep reading (and smiling) even if I don't always comment.
