Today when I came home,
the coop was even more close to being complete.
Robby had put in a door and chicken wire
inside where the nesting boxes are.
I need to find a fun color to paint the door "trim".
It needs to be pretty inside ya know.
Robby began building the chicken yard. Still need to put the top wire on
to keep the hawks, eagles and other critters out.
Tomorrow he will put the door in the side of the coop and build the
ramp for the chickens to get outside into the yard.
And he needs to put on another door for me to get in and out
of the "yard" with.
A few ventilation windows cut into the eaves and we are good to go.
Need to get some pansies to put in my little window box too.
We found someone to buy our 3 hens from and another person
to purchase a rooster from. Saturday morning I will be bringing
home my new babies.
I have been wanting chickens for about 20 years.
I am so thankful that I have a husband who
believes in my dreams and helps me achieve them.
It would have been nice to have had chickens years ago,
but I am glad I waited until Robby was a part of my life
so he could share in this adventure with me.
Next time I post,
perhaps there will be hens and a rooster in
that sweet little coop.
Can't wait to hear about your chicken adventures!
