Cooking for Love

My last post was not such a happy post.
I vented ALOT.
That's not fun to do.
But it needed to be done.

This post is a yummy one.
At least to me and my hubby.
Next Wednesday is his BIRTHDAY.
So tonight is a birthday dinner for him.

Robby loves to hunt.
This works out great for me.
While he is hunting,
I get to spend lots of time
in my FAVORITE room.
THE KITCHEN.

When he comes in the door,
he is hit by the smell
of home cooked food,
just for him.

Tonight's menu:
Chicken Parmesan with Spaghetti Squash
Homemade Ciabata Bread
Rustic Apple Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream
Layer Cake Shiraz to accompany dinner

I love cooking for the people in my family.
My kids enjoy my cooking more
than any other thing I do.
Robby really loves for me
to cook especially for him too.

I hope he enjoys this birthday dinner
as much as I LOVED making it
for him, with love.

My first time making Cibata Bread and it turned out really well.

After roasting the spaghetti squash.

Never ceases to amaze me how cool spaghetti squash is.

The rustic apple tart looks pretty rustic huh?  Can't really tell there is a crust
because it's all the same color.

Time to put it all together.  Chicken out of the oven.

The finished product.
When Robby walked in the house,
a fire was in the fireplace,
dinner was cooking in the oven,
and the house smelled wonderful.
If my house were a Yankee Candle,
I'd call it
COOKING FOR LOVE.
The final touch
to a perfect evening,
was a slice of heaven with
a scoop of sinfulness.

Your meal looks absolutely delicious, especially the dessert. We have run out of wood, otherwise, I would have loved to have a fire tonight as well. Regarding your previous post, venting is always good. Along those same lines, I had posted a picture on my Facebook page of someone holding a sign that said "I hate when people say I look miserable when I'm just sitting there. Do I need to paint a smile on all the time?" by Stephen Gomez. I guess when we act out of the norm, that throws people off. (And YES, I too get excited when I get a comment ~ it's the little things, right?)

    Have a peaceful Sunday.
